Hey! New girl on the block! I just found out that a guy I've liked for a while- who's a couple years older than me- is going to start coming to the school I'm going to. How can I get to know him without appearing too forward? I mean, as far as I know, he just thinks of me as a kid (I'm 18), but I've had a crush on him for about 3 years, and I guess I want to know if he's worth it. ~Thanks

Welcome! Fortune favors the bold I would say. Just talk to him. You don't have to ask him out or anything. Have a friendly lunch, catch a movie with him in a group setting, something like that. If you've got a class with him, ask him a question about it (Make something up if you have to! and just ease into some casual conversation. Keep it relaxed and fun. If it works out, great. If not, well you may possibly have made a friend out of the deal. Hope that helps!

Yea i agree with wat Lucky says, just go for it and talk to him. Him moving to your school could possibly be the best thing for that as now you get to see him little more and will have more opportunities to talk to him. Good luck

Going to a new school (or job or camp or anywhere, really) can be intimidating, so he'd probably appreciate it if you invited him to stuff that is happening- if a group of your friends is going somewhere, you could mention it and say "You should come". Just don't be disappointed when he has other friends and other activities going on (something that has happened to me... I can be a jealous person, especially if I want them to spend all of their time with me!!! =)

Hey thanks for all that...but there is something I forgot to mention: I'm not going to that school right now. I'm starting classes there next fall, and he's transferring from a different college.
So I won't be of any help with the friends/activities. :) He'll probably know more people there than I do.

well then ask him about the different activities on campus, if there's a christian club, ask question and maybe have lunch after class one time with him.

yeah I was just gonna say talk to him, like about anything, like where classes are, idk just dont be withdrawn, cuz that does not work :P
but also, if you're 18, i assume you're both @ the same uni? or college?
idk just dont start suggesting you spend every waking moment with him, cuz that will scare him off LOL. or if he's a weirdo, he might like it and thats really creepy and not someone you wanna date lol.

Actually JoJo I'm finishing up 11th grade (I missed a year of school 'cuz of a car accident) and I'm going to the college for PSEO classes, so (probably fortunatly) I'll still be at home! So my every waking moment will most definatly not be spent with him! :)
Thanks for all your responses!

Ok, 12th grade is the highest we go, but with PSEO classes, you get credit for both high school and college. I am starting classes next fall (my last year of HS) and he is transferring from a different college.
Clear as mud?? :)

Hey that's great! I almost envy you :)
