| Why do most guys (some of them Christians) seem to find it hysterical that I don't date? I find that even girls who date understand my view, but almost no guys do.

Well... I know I'm not a guy, but I can understand your view. But then again.... I know whenever someone I know hears that I've never dated, they're super surprised. |

I'm the same, I have so many people telling me I may as well just date "someone" just cuz otherwise it'll never happen. and I'm like "Um... I'm not gonna just go out and date the first guy I see... SO NOT HAPPENING!!" one even told me that cuz there was this guy at youth (who's 16, I'm almost 22) who liked me, that I shoulda dated him, and IO was like "UH NO!!!! EW I'M SO NOT A COUGAR!" haha, idk it's come to the point where people have given up trying to get me to date, and I've left it in God's hands to sort it out, then I won't be obsessed with trying to find a guy I guess guys dont tend to get it because guys minds are made differently, where they'd date a "hot" girl even (not saying all guys do this...) if she's as thick as a post and/or the most irritating person around. like I think they're wired that a girl is better than no girl... but again, this isn't every guy's attitude, and the guys on here pretty much don't think like normal guys so dont worry about them, haha. they just dont get it and might not ever figure it out, so just be like "no, this is what I wanna do, and it's not changing, deal with it" lol |

Well, to avoid regurgitating what Jo just said: I second what she said. Don't worry about what other people say- if you choose not to date just yet, or not at all, I can pretty much guarantee you you won't regret it. Granted, I'm at a point in my life when I'm really thinking about dating/courting due to future desires but you can do a lot when you're single, and learn to depend on God more and more and fall in love with Him. Dating may be the norm, but you don't have to be a part of it. At least that's part of my mentality. On a side note: my best friend (who also has been single her whole life) and I were talking about being able to stay single our whole lives. She told me she thinks it's because of the way we carry ourselves, kind of in a 'not available' and 'not interested' poise. ^_^ Haha! I found that highly amusing since I never thought about it that way. Apparently someone told her the same thing. |

hehe yeah exactly and on another side note, I'm in that "i actually want to get married now" phase, after 22 years being single, and besides that... the guy I previously wanted to marry, who got married to another girl i know... i originally was like "That coulda been me" but then thinking about it, at 22, I'm not ready to be a mum, not ready to take on the responsibility, and once I'm married, I need to start settling down etc, and I might not be able to travel as much and do the stuff God's called me to do for this time period" haha so yeah |

| Yea you're asking the wrong guys, I understand where you're coming from, and I think a lot of the guys on here will also. The funny thing is, on here the girls aren't regular either, we are all a rare breed of people, which makes it difficult to ask questions about normal people. |

@Q, Yes, I know what you mean. I've come to realize a long time ago that we are indeed part of a rare group of people that are not part of the norm. I find it highly refreshing though and I enjoy coming on and discussing topics. As for the norm, A&L, it's very normal, and even highly encouraged to date at younger ages and if you don't, it's usually viewed upon in more ways than one: is there something wrong with you? Are you gay/lesbian? You're really weird... etc. Either way. I know for one thing, I'm not normal. I like it that way, and sometime down the road, I'll meet someone. |
