My co-author for, “For Young Women Only”, Lisa Rice, and I traveled to Dallas on Sunday night. We had a series of television shows and interviews on Monday, the 27th. It was one of the first chances that we’ve had to really get some good publicity for the new book “For Young Women Only”. We did not realize that the previous book that Jeff and I wrote, “For Men Only”, would negatively impact our ability to get television shows and radio shows interested in “For Young Women Only”. So, it has taken several months for us to get the TV shows interested in having me back on. It was fun for me to include my friend and co-author Lisa on this our first publicity trip for the book.
I did a Dallas Morning News segment for Fox, after which we got in the car and raced over from Dallas to Fort Worth to do a live segment on FamilyNet, which is a major family television network. The show that I have done there, probably six times, is called “At Home-Live” with Chuck and Jenni. And to our great regret, the day that we were on, they announced that they would only be doing the show for another three weeks. It’s such a shame for me to see a wonderful program like theirs go away. Chuck and Jenni Borsellino have been fabulous promoters and encouragers of the work that I’ve done. Over the years, they have had me on for each one of my books, even my novels, The Veritas Conflict and Lights of Tenth Street, which it’s very hard to get publicity for novels. They caught the vision immediately for the fact that these novels were so based in truth-sold messages that it was worth having a television segment about them.
I’m very sad that the program is ending after almost seven years, but, I do know that God has something good in mind for them and that He will take care of Chuck and Jenni and give them an even better opportunity down the road. I was talking to Chuck in the greenroom, before we went on, about some of the similar anxieties I have had with the acquisition of my publisher and not knowing what the new publisher was going to be like; not knowing what the new leadership team was going to be like, and how they were going to view my work. I was concerned with how things are going to change, and Chuck and I were agreeing that it is so critical to put our future in God’s hands and trust that He has it entirely under control. It’s our job to join Him in what He is doing. It is easier said than done sometimes, but it is very important and so true that when we put our lives in His hands that He really is in control. Both Chuck and I were agreeing that we’
